However, as for now, I've been dealing with 4 Wheel Slide Tuning (Tamer) and could not be any happier with his patience and honest advice as well. His custom E-flash street tune is absolutely amazing. With all my parts and final tune, I pulled 370Whp & 358 Torque on a dynojet and could not be any happier. The car runs so smooth and will be getting tuned again soon for my next setup with the FP Green and 780 injectors, hoping to hit 400whp as my daily driven car. As for now, these 3 companies have taken care of my servicing parts and tuning and do not plan to deal with anyone else because I could not be any more happier with my car's final outcome overall and their great customer service! - EvoM Profile

Due to complications with another tuner (whom shall remain nameless because I didn't really have any issues with him just wasn't happy with communication modes etc.)
A little back ground on my vehicle: I purchased this IX from a dealership off EvoM and it came with everything provided by RRE including a tune from Scott Grey. On my way home with it (to Colorado from California), I threw a lot of misfire codes and upwards of 20+ counts of knock. The car came with Scott's highly "needed" Greddy 720cc injectors (why he emphasizes the need for these on a bolt on Evo is beyond me but whatever). RRE's turbo back exhaust, MBC and Apexi intake.
I then chose to do all new hard piping, 3" FMIC and intake from ETS. I also installed a Megan 3" downpipe to ETS open flow exhaust. Doing these mods allowed the vehicle to breath better but also to run lean in the range of 12.5-12.6. I chose to then go back to stock evo injectors instead of messing around with scaling these pointless 720's. Car idled much better after I implemented the stock latency and scaling.
I decided to seek the services of a fairly new vendor. This vendor goes by the name 4 Wheel Slide. His reviews proved to me that he knew what he was doing and would look out for my best interest when tuning my car.
He got right onto the map, sent his base map for my mods within 2 hours. I was out and logging within 30 mins. His BASEMAP was spot on!! 11.5 all the way through and the car just picked up and took off like a bat out of hell. I could not believe what I got myself into when buying an Evo.
I am now on my 3rd map and just doing fine tuning at this point. I was leaving a gas station the other night and didn't notice a semi hauling ass behind me so I mashed the gas in first which was a very BAD idea as the car just up and took off. I am not used to this for 2 reasons. 1) I had a 500whp SR20 FWD car before the evo and I would have lag with the gt30r and spin city with the fwd. 2) I didn't expect the evo's turbo to kick my ass in first gear like that.
The point of this review is to HIGHLY recommend Tamer aka 4WS aka Porn Star as a tuner. His dedication to making sure you get the most out of your mods safely and efficiently AND in a timely manner are phenomenal. He is ALWAYS available through e-mail and/or AIM at any given time.

Tamer tuned my evo 8 and my other 2 friend's evo 9's, they are all very satisfied with his works and we all shocked on how ours performed after first couple reflashs.
4ws provides the same works other tuners do but he'll go beyond other tuners to help with individual tuning needs.

As some of you know, I recently got back from Korea. After 4 days of working to get all my new parts on the car it was time to get it tuned. When I told 4WS the car was down at AWD Motorsports getting cams in he offered to meet me there to get the car to idle so i could drive it home that night. I ended up picking up the car the following morning and met him shortly thereafter. After about an hour or so of tuning we blew off the LICP and pulled into a parking lot. He even did the majority of the work to put it on (I only did the undertray) and we were back on our way. After I left the car felt great, it's tuned for 23 psi and the least bit of knock, maybe 1 every now and then. I'm really happy I chose to get my car 4WS Tuned.

I have to say EVERY time I meet this guy or talk to him he pulls out all of the stops to make sure people are happy with his service and he really goes out of his way for people.
I HIGHLY recommend him for his tune and his customer service is second to none!
His opinions are very unbiased and he tells you the real deal rather than just trying to sell you on a part or serivce, and who to do certain things and why not to do certain things.
I blew an ICP last Friday night which he later told me was actually two pipes got blown off. My car was down the whole weekend and monday. We had planned to do the work on Tuesday night and I got tied up at work but he still came all the way to my job, picked up the keys to my car then went to my house to do the work. Before I could even get picked up from the GF from work to come back to help he was already out of there! He checked every inch of the connections to make sure they were solid, CEL reset, the works. I was tuned by 4 wheel slide about a month ago and the car was freaking amazing. I was custom tuned by Dynoflash last year and was very disappointed with it. The car was only trapping 110 with mods in signature plus meth plus 10.5 hotside.
I contacted 4 wheel slide and he said he will tune my car. So we met up and he did a little logging and then started tuning. All I can say is wow, I couldn't get off the throttle the whole time home.
I went to the track the following week and ran some impressive times like 12.1s all day at 113 114. Then the next week after I ran an 12.0 all day with one run 11.9 @114. I was very impressed with the way the car performed.
4 wheel slide is a an EVOmer and a heck of a tuner.

My experiences with Tamer (4WS) have been great. I had a previous tune from another big name vendor that I thought was pretty good. I then bought a new part and decided to give 4WS a try based on his many great reviews on EvolutionM.net. He invited me to his house to help install the new part and then to do a re-tune. Damn, this new tune feels smooth! I defintely noticed a big difference in the power and overall stability of the car now. I will be back for more tunes for sure! Tamer is also a real cool guy to get along with, he doesn't make himself out to be some "god" because he can tune Evo's. He's a real down to earth guy.

This man is amazing when it comes to tuning plain and simple... i have known him for a year now... and he is more of a friend then a tuner... the dude is cool as hell... he has tuned my MR to run 12.2 with me missing 3rd gear a few times lol... all I have is a hks intake with a DC dp and a HKS Hi-Power exhaust... the car feels amazing and pulls like a beast...
he has also tuned my friends evos... one of them is on here... Tony Montana... his car came from a horrible tune created by.... will remain nameless.... and after Tamer tuned it the car went 12.3 at the track...
If anyone thinks this guy is just "another" tuner you are very well mistaken...
I live in NYC if I ever go up to a standalone... I fill fly this fool up here to tune my evo... that's how confident I am in him....

In the aftermarket industry that we all have dealt with it is extremely hard to find somebody honest enough like Tamer to save you the most money while getting the best and safest out of our cars.

Let’s see..where to begin. I first met Tamer at Deenies Speedway one night in Mexico on a closed road course.. Me, having my stock ’06 GTO and him having his evo, I thought, ha, a ricer, I’ll blow him away… Ya, so that never happened.. My facial expression immediately changed as I rolled up the windows.. We had one more encounter and let me just say, I’ve never seen an AWD car fish tail and almost hit me from having such a launch off the line… Ok, enough about the introduction.. I’ve been on many ‘tuning’ sessions with Tamer and let me just tell you he knows his stuff. From stock to highly modified, he can definitely tune it – I wouldn’t trust my car (if I owned an evo) to anyone else but him. In many years that I’ve known him, tuning has been his great passion and he does very well at it – many people can agree with this statement. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard customers say “I’ve taken my car to so and so for a tune and it doesn’t drive right.” After a few logging/tuning runs, the smile factor only gets better, especially mine ;) But seriously, I highly recommend him for tuning Evo’s by far.. Not everyone can make the power he does. 4WS FTW!!!!!!

Tamer took my bone-stock Evo IX and meticulously tuned it into a snarling beast. It’s much more drivable, has lots more guts at the bottom end, and pulls strongly to a (higher) redline that I ever thought possible. If you do only one thing for your Evo, you should put it in Tamer’s capable hands. There is no better bang for the buck, period.

well, all i can say is 4ws tuning ftw... tamer is a awesome guy and works hard at getting your car running 110% regardless of your situation... let me give you guys a low down on my car.. I bought my 06 ww ix about 4 months ago.. i didnt know a damn thing about the car which is why i came to the forums.. as much as i read i still wanted to learn more. I seen somebody have their screen-name in their profile so i added them, that way if i have any questions i could ask somebody who might know.. well, long story short it was tamers screen name and we have been talking every since. Now i know quite a bit about the car thanks to tamer... (im not trying to make this into a love story, im just trying to give him a good review)... So, i began modding my car.. here are the mods on the car as of right now..
Act 6-puck - Grouppe-s flywheel, Megan TBE, EPM o2 dump, Buscher Intake FILTER, Apexi AVC-R, ETS 3.5' Fmic, ETS licp, and of course a 4WS tune..
Tamer Flashed the car about 7 times when he sent me this graph (this isnt the final graph.. since then, i have been flashed 2 more times..)
when he sent me that i was jumping up and down, threw a party, got drunk, made a baby.. ok.. well maybe not all that but i was pumped....
I went to the track 2 weeks ago and kept running consistant 12.1/2's.. @ 116 with a terrible 1.8 60'.. i called tamer and got a few suggestions and still kept running the same.. i went to the track yesterday after 2 more flashes and a lil bit better driving and ran this

After being unhappy with a previous tune, I was recommended by a friend to give 4WS a try and he promised I wouldnt be dissapointed.... and that was spot on. Ive just had the car re-tuned by Tamer and im very pleased with the results, no hastle at all, very easy to deal with and a very
safe tune, and getting some great numbers from what are very basic mods. (exhaust, fuel pump, filter and turning up the boost a bit) we managed to get 360hp and could have even pushed it further by another 10hp or so. The car pulls very strong all the way through to redline and zero knock
throughout every gear. definately will be returning when I get my new parts. Good job Tamer, cheers man!!

Tamer definitely knows exactly what he is doing- while we were road tuning, he explained every single detail and answered all of my questions (I asked everything that I could).
I've delt with pretty much all the shops down here in South Florida and Tamer, by far, has the best customer service!
My Car is running perfectly and it feels great!!! - I got in contact with Tamer on a Tuesday and by Friday my car was tuned.

I recently decided to have my Evo re-tuned. My car was running worse and worse as the weather got poorer, and It always had some quirks to begin with. I had bad hesitation (almost like I hit a wall) and bucking issues at low RPM boosting, in addition to pretty rough idle at times and high idle start ups. During a cold start the car would run like complete ass until it was 100% warm. It also came to my attention the previous tuner never quite got to scale the injectors properly.
Now, I'm not bashing Klemann. He has tuned a couple of my friends cars and they are all good running machines. Klemann and the previous owner of my car had a break down in communications and therefore the tune was not 100% finished.
I had a various amount of options. My car was originally Klemann tuned, I could have turned to him to have it finished or I also have STM in my back yard pretty much and I could have made the drive to have them tune my car.
I was leaning towards a street tune because I really wanted to smooth out the drivability as best as possible which I knew would require more time that a few hours on a dyno.
So, after reading through various reviews and getting personal advice, I settled on 4ws tuning.
I contacted Tamer through PM here and received a prompt response within the hour and we went from there.
Me and Tamer chatted for about a week before I made the decision to pull the trigger and have my car re-tuned. He seemed very knowledgeable off the bat and was not reluctant to answer any questions I had.
Pretty much we decided on this:
-Upgrade to Tephra v7
-Start from scratch, re-scalling injectors
-Change from MBC to boost by ECU
-Wide band hardwire into ECU.
The total cost for this was $250 (Not including the money I spent on parts), something I thought was very fair.
Process + progress:
To start off with, I wired my AEM wideband into my ECU. I'm a complete noob and Tamer helped me every step of the way, whether that was via text or email. He was very quick and helpful throughout the process.
After I got that set up, Tamer shot me a base tune and we started logging the idle and figuring out the fuel trim. Then I started street logging after a few changes to the tune.
Eventually within 2-3 days of pretty vigorous logging we got the fuel trims exactly where we wanted them.
Then I ordered a Grimmspeed 3 port and OMNI 4BAR map sensor from Tamer which I received in 2 business days. I installed them promptly using Tamers explicit instructions (headache free!).
This is worthy of note: Yesterday was Tamer's bithday (Happy birthday again bro! ) and he found enough time to get my first couple of WOT pulls done. After about 3 WOT pulls, we decided to call it quits and to let the man celebrate.
As of now, we have got the ECU boost control squared away and as of right now we just have a day or so more of WOT and boost logging to do to get it 100%

So to sum my experience up so far:
Tamer is an excellent guy to work with. He is very knowledgeable, patient, professional (But also humorous and fun to work with), prompt in his response, doesn't mind spelling things out for evo noobs(Like myself!) and he really has brought out some very positive results in my car.My car has never idled so nicely, driven so nicely in open and closed loop, or got better gas mileage. The butt dyno feels good in this car so far, and it's not quite finished yet!
I will bring you some updates when we are 100% finished. But I am extremely satisfied and I feel confident in saying I completely trust my car in Tamers hands.
